Triacastela; Day 34; 20 km/12.9 miles

Mostly downhill but we were surprised to start uphill before we headed down…and then a couple more hills! Anyhoo, met an interesting Canadian that was carrying a lot of emotional baggage…we invited him to join us in the Rosary and he prayed it with us…he hadn’t prayed a Rosary in 40 years! It was a rather cool day and we were happy to arrive! Lots of photos to follow; several blogs I think! Buen Camino!

O’Cebreiro; Day 33; 8.8 km/5.5 miles

Although the climb was long and steep, Debbie and I thought that we were well prepared with all our combined training…we were very happy that we went the extra miles yesterday so we could quasi ‘enjoy’ today!… How many Hail Mary’s can you pray …?…enough to get to the top! We arrived just in time to walk into the church to participate in a German Mass with a Priest, two Deacons, a full choir, and a bus full of Germans…how amazing was that?! We enjoyed an excellent lunch and are resting until English Mass with Fr Jim and company…Buen Camino

Las Herrias; Day 32; 30.2 km/18.9 miles

We left in the dark and went up hill for a bit…when we got to Villafranca, we followed some other pilgrims and before we knew it, we missed our alternate route and ended up walking along the road the entire morning…we did follow the river the entire route and enjoyed the fall colors…when we reached Trabadelo, our destination, it was only 1045…once again, God provides by allowing us to book a room several villages down the road and getting Debbie’s backpack transported…so, it turned out to be a very long hike but our steep climb tomorrow is now much shorter! Buen Camino
